Cornhole game rules & variants

In any sport, of course, the rules are the most important. So too with Cornhole. As with other sports, you can have different rules.

What is fixed is that each player has 4 corn sachets or nowadays granule-filled sachets. A board to throw the bags on. 3 points for in the hole and 1 for on the board. The difference at the end of the turn is added to the total.

In official game rules, whoever has 21 points or more first wins. There are also other cornhole game rules you can use to make it more interesting. The backyard game rules:

Exactly 21:

Very popular because it involves extra dynamics, a form we also recommend for friends among themselves and the standard wicked wood rules are. The goal is to get exactly to 21 points it and if you go over 21 you go back to 15. This extra element makes the cornhole players even more fanatical.

Non-Cancellation

These game rules are even simpler: All points scored by throwing the bags count. They are not subtracted from each other at the end of the turn. You can still play up to 21 points or whoever has the most points at the end wins.

This variant also works very well as an entry level for children. A winning score of 15 is also good advice in this regard.

Speedhole:

In this variant of cornhole there are no turns, you don't have to toss the bags alternately, rather the goal is to toss as fast as possible, whoever gets to 21 first wins. If your teammate picks up pockets and hits an opponent's pocket, the opponent chalks up an extra point.

Long Toss:

This variation of cornhole is not about the most points but who scores the furthest away. Start at the normal distance and throw a bag on the board. Whoever misses drops out and everyone has 4 chances. After each round you move back one meter just until 1 player remains. The official world record stands at about 23 meters.
